Responsibilities:

We are looking for individuals who demonstrate empathy, professionalism and a strong desire to help patients and families struggling with substance use disorder. This candidate will have applied knowledge in ASAM and will be a team player who is eager to apply their skill set in a variety of services and/or increase their skill set through varied experience. This individual will have a positive outlook, be flexible in schedule, communicative, and detail oriented.

As part of an interdisciplinary team of professionals dedicated to providing healing and hope to patients, families, and communities affected by substance use disorder, SUD Counselors at Serenity Lane:

  • Create a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals and families that facilitates the exploration of the chemical dependency.
  • Counsel individuals in one-on-one and group sessions.
  • Maintain records according to OAR, ASAM, CARF, and Serenity Lane’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensure people in our care have individualized service plans.
  • Collaborate with professional staff on treatment plans for patients and provide outside referrals as needed.
  • Comply with all in-house and third party reporting responsibilities and protocols.

Education and Experience:

  • CADC I certification required. CADC II a plus.
  • High School Diploma. Associates or Bachelors a plus.
  • 1-3 three years in the field of behavioral health required.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to sit with patients in crisis.
  • Knowledge of addiction and treatment process.
  • DSM-5 criteria for Substance Use Disorders.
  • Evidence based chemical dependency treatment
  • ASAM standards in patient placement and clinical care.
  • Confidentiality laws including CFR 42.
  • Client centered care standards.
